Hey Everyone...

I am back after a very traumatic two weeks. My husband is now recovering very nicely at home and counting his blessings. Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts.

Not much to post about this week as I haven't quite caught up with everything that is going on but I did want to mention the up and coming Craftfest which is going to be held at the Gold Coast Convention Centre March 27-29. For more information check the Craftfest website.

Well thats about it from me this week, I just want to leave you with a tip - if you haven't got the right colour flowers for your layout why not try painting some of you paper flowers with acrylic paint. I tried this recently and they worked a treat.

Bye for now.

Sad news

Unfortunately, It's a bit of a sad post today.

Earlier this week I received news that Karen's hubby had suffered a heart attack. I'm not up to speed with all the details yet, but we will keep you posted on when we expect to see Karen back at work.

I know that Karen has made many friends while she has been here and I am sure that you would all join with me to wish Karen and her husband all the best.

Karen, our thoughts are with you and best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Chipboard Rocks!

It's been far too long between blog posts and I do apologise, but it's a new year and with it brings new enthusiasm for blogging!

Karen is going to bring you the weekly gossip, the scoop on new products and she'll inspire you with challenges and competitions. I'm sure it won't be long before you're hanging our for her contribution every Friday!

In the meantime, I'll get you started with.... chipboard! We stock a wide variety of chipboard titles or graphics that could just be the perfect finishing touch for your project.

You can leave them raw like this:

You can paint or ink them in the perfect colour to compliment your layout. In this layout, Allison has used a white gel pen to outline and highlight the title:

You can even add embossing powder or flocking to the chipboard:

Chipboard need not be limited to titles. Why not use a graphic image as an embellishment. This one has simply been distressed with some ink:

So get creative with some chipboard today....what can you come up with???

News

It's been a little while between posts, so i'll catch you up on what's been happening around here.

Firstly, we have said farewell to Cathy this month. You would know Cathy from her regular weekly posts and her quote of the week.

As they say, one door closes another one opens - and that's where I get to introduce you to our newest team member - Karen. Karen has been scrapping for about 10 years and hosts the Scrapchat forum. She is a passionate scrapper and a very friendly lady who we hope you will pop in and meet soon.

Apart from scrapping and working, I have had a busy month with relo's visiting from Sydney. My Dad turned the big 6-0 a couple of weeks ago and he came for a visit with my mum and brother. We spoilt him with game fishing, teppanyaki at the Marriott, Gold Class cinema tickets and other such fun experiences....just what every Dad deserves right.

I have also been busy chasing Roxi around the place. She has taken off at a mad pace. Unfortunately that means she is into everything and especially loves playing with doors and drawers and chasing our dogs!

All the new Basic Grey ranges have come in this week. There is something for everybody here! I just can't decide which range is my favourite, here's a little taste of the yummy Urban Prairie:

You can check out the whole shebang in the shop or on the Basic Grey website: www.basicgrey.com
